Sunnyside Restaurant Northampton Review

Recently the Sunnyside pub has under gone a make over & is now a Generous George. On Sunday we went for a family meal as it was my daughters birthday.

We had been several times when it was a Hungry Horse but did sometimes find the food a little hit or miss.  It is a large family pub in a good location.

The restaurant looks newer, fresher and modern following the changes. The indoor play area has been changed & is now more suited to tots although there is a computer on the wall for the older children.

We found the food was much improved and the roast dinner looked amazing. I had serious food envy and will definitely try next time.

It is the usual pub grub but now has a large pizza section which was not included previously. The link below will take you to menus, address etc.

The service and staff were great and it felt much friendlier.

A negative for me is that we were unable to book a table. We were a large group (16) and did manage to sit together but this was in a haphazard style around 4 tables pulled together. I emailed the pub and they advised they are trailing table booking Monday to Thursday and may extend to the weekends.

The only other point I'd make is if the outdoor play area could be extended. It has been brightened up and has a safe spongey floor but the apparatus is quite small. This is purely because having 2 children this would make an excellent venue for us & in the warmer months sitting outside with the children playing would be perfect.

The new Sunnyside suits us as a family and we will definitely return.
