Mini Meadows Farm

Mini Meadows farm in Naseby, Northamptonshire is a perfect place to pass the time with restless kids in the summer holidays.

Amazingly it is only £3 per person entry and under 2's are free.  Honestly where can you go now a days for under a tenner!

We have been several times and its where our lovely hens, Nugget, Archie, Jagger and Billie-Bob are from but this is the first time I've written a blog post about the lovely place.

Its recently had a new café and toilet block and the improvements are brilliant. I had worried they may hike their prices up to compensate but I'm pleased to say they haven't and it still has a lovely atmosphere.

The kids love the small play area and brilliant indoor sand pit which is large with benches for the grown ups.  As its fairly small you can let your children have a little more freedom. My 5 year old will often play on the swings whilst the 9 year old is looking at the animals and I don't need to worry as can see both.

The farm has the usual assortment of animals which you can feed with colour coded buckets of feed which are £2 each.  At various times of the year you can feed baby lambs or have a cuddle with the friendly guinea pigs although not on this occasion.

The only thing I think would improve the farm is a larger play area with new climbing frame, basket swing or zip wire. This is a minor issue and what is there does the job.  The tractor circuit has gone to make way for the new café and it would be nice if this was relocated as it was perfect on iffy weather days.

We ended up staying for nearly 4 hours on our last visit with grandparents and I would 100% recommend a visit if you are in the Northamptonshire area.

  1. It was a lovely place Emma and will most probably go again, as you say its not an over large farm to go around. And the sandpit being on the large side is a huge hit with the kiddies.

  2. This place sounds lovely Emma. A little too fat from us unfortunately but I love that you can still hand feed the animals there. Our local petting farms have all pulled back and don't let you any more and I think it's such a lovely thing to let children experience. Fantastic value too! Dawn x

  5. It looks fab Emma, and you really cannot grumble at those prices at all!! You've taken some great pictures, it does look like the children were having loads of fun. Lovely that they can feed the animals too, my boys haven't done this yet, and I know it's something they'd get so excited about! My husband has family in Northampton, and we are planning a visit soon, so I will have to keep this in mind, as we will definitely need entertainment for the children!!
