Hamerton Zoo Park

Today we visited Hamerton Zoo Park which is approximately 35 miles from Northampton.  Hamerton Zoo is smaller than many but this makes it ideal for smaller children to stroll around and my own children aged 9 and 12 liked the size of it because it was easy to navigate.

The zoo has many different bird species, tigers, zebras, donkeys, goats, wallaby's and more.  Don't expect lions, giraffes, rhinos and elephants and you won't be disappointed.  Hamerton Zoological Park has been playing a vital role in animal conservation since 1990 and has over 100 species. We saw baby flamingos and storks whilst there plus the beautiful white tigers.

The children loved the play area and the short train journey (£2 per person) around the park.  The cafĂ© is small but functional and there was lots of green space for picnics.

We spent 2 hours and 15 minutes there.  We could have stayed longer but it was very hot and we had plans for later in the day.  I'd recommend allowing 3 hours although with a picnic and content children playing this could be more.

Adult price is £14.99, Children £9.99 and under 3's FREE.
